Blues on the Green is one of the biggest outdoor music events of the summer and draws thousands of people to Zilker Park. We've got a few tips to share with you, especially if you plan to bring children to the event.
The stage is set up on the northeast corner of Zilker Park, near Lou Neff Point. Music starts at 8pm and the concert is FREE.
Tip #1: Bring food and drinks. While there are vendors onsite, the lines can be quite long. With hungry kids possibly turning cranky due to lack of sustenance, it may be best to come prepared, even if you bring food just for the kids and buy food from the vendors for the adults.
Tip #2: Water. Bring lots of it. It's hot and you will quickly dehydrate without drinking a lot of water.
Tip # 3: Arrive early and swim in Barton Springs. That water can easily chill down the body on even the hottest Austin day. Plus, if you go early in the day, you may be lucky enough to snag a parking spot close to the pool.
Tip #4: There is very limited on-site parking available. One option we like best is passenger drop off/ pick up. If you're coming with another adult, they can drop off and leave a little early to pick up. Or, you can take a pedicab. If you see one blasting 93.3 with a huge KGSR license plate, take a ride because its 100% free!

Tip #5: If you're looking for a nice date night, splurge and buy the VIP tickets. You'll get two drinks, access to a cash bar, catered food by Shay Grove, shade and cooling stations, parking and more!
What can you bring?
- Lawn chairs
- Dogs on leashes
Glass, alcohol, weapons and Styrofoam are not permitted. If you don't feel like bringing a picnic, you can buy food and drinks on site from vendors (just keep in mind you'll have to wait in line and need to bring cash).
